PHARMACY WEEK

THEME: Exploring Pharma Diversity Innovations and Interventions.

Weekly activities

1. Pharmaceutical Exhibition

The pharmaceutical exhibition will run for 2 days where pharmaceutical and related or interested companies will exhibit their products. Student products (pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences) will also be exhibited hence giving them a platform to showcase their innovations. During exhibition, there will be other activities such as blood donation and AMR awareness.

2. FUNDRAISER CAR WASH

There will be ‘A TUITION DRIVE’ charity fundraiser car wash at the cyclone square, Friday 22^nd July. This activity has been included to address tuition challenges among pharmacy students especially those who miss exams due to the failure to raise up to 80% tuition. The public is hereby invited especially staff members to turn for this activity and have their cars sparkled with VEXE pharma car products/cosmetics at an affordable cost. Proceeds will go towards helping disadvantaged students in MBUPSA to deal with tuition challenges.

3. PHARMACY CHALLENGE

Every year the association organizes a pharmacy challenge together with post graduate students and pharmaceutical sciences students in form of a quiz which is not limited to academic concepts but also examines students’ all-round knowledge on various topics like sports, current affairs among others. In addition, we hope to make this challenge more integrated to involve the entire faculty of medicine courses to foster team work through team building activity.

4. MENTORSHIP WORKSHOP

The pharmaceutical and healthcare professionals will be invited to hold a discussion with Pharmacy students on the Topic: The Journey Between Graduation and The First Pay Check, Venue: PLT, Time: 9am to 1pm

5. PHARMAZINE

This year 2022, we published the very first edition that made tremendous sales, that entailed student and alumni pharmaceutical articles, intriguing research abstracts, fun facts, interviews, of which pioneer companies that had the opportunity to advertise can attest to its impact of their products awareness on the market. We intend to keep up with an annual edition and invite you to submit content not limited to pharmacy, for publishing/advertising in the 2023 edition. We hope to have an e-copy as soon as we launch our website, copies will be available at the exhibition.
