The Centre for Innovations and Technology Transfer (CITT) is thrilled to announce the winners of its prestigious Product Innovation Seed Grant for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, following a rigorous Project Qualification Review (PQR) process. Out of 18 participating teams in the final PQR pitching activity, four standout innovations were selected for their potential to enhance the quality of life for individuals in Uganda and beyond. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the following winning teams:
- LASS (Low-Cost Automated Slide Stainer) – Led by Principal Investigator Ms. Auma Eunice, this medical device aims to ensure accurate and precise medical diagnoses.
- GO-PEYN Liquid Balm – Under the guidance of Principal Investigator Mr. Kalumba Julius, this fast-acting Ayurvedic organic therapy provides quick relief from joint pains, nasal congestion, and headaches.
- SIMS (Student Information Management System) – With Principal Investigator Mr. Bamutura David Sabiiti at the helm, this cutting-edge system is set to streamline academic management at MUST.
- Smart Kuku Brooder System – With Principal Investigator Mr. Etyang Aaron, this innovative poultry brooding solution is designed to enhance efficiency and productivity in poultry farming.
Each of these teams has been awarded funding from the Research and Innovation Fund (RIF) provided to MUST by the Government of Uganda. Each project will receive $5,686.64 (approximately 21 million Ugandan shillings) to support their development.
