The University has Counselors to help students deal with psycho-social and academic concerns. Additionally, students may seek guidance on academics from their lecturers, Dean of their faculty or the Office of the Academic Registrar.
Counseling services are designed to support students during their stay at the University. This facilitates the educational, personal, social, emotional and career development of the students. Counseling provides a safe and confidential space of talking to trained personnel.
The counselor may facilitate referral to other community resources such as Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital and peer services.
Guidance as a component of education focuses on helping individual students make informed decisions about their personal academic and career choices. Guidance aims at assisting students in developing their strengths, acquiring necessary skills, and exploring various options to enhance their personal and professional growth.
