Muyingo, the Chancellor, Professor Charles Lwanga Mark Olweny, the chairman university council, Dr. Warren Naamara, the vice Chancellor Professor Celestino Obua, University management and staff, invited guests in your capacities, our dear parents, sponsors and guardians, fellow graduands, ladies and gentlemen,a good morning to you all.
I am Lukwago Jonathan, standing before you as the valedictorian of the graduating class of 2024 and it is with great humility and honour that I deliver these words of gratitude on behalf of my fellow graduands.
As we gather on this auspicious occasion to bid farewell to our alma mater and embark on the next chapter of our journey, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and awe. Our time here has been marked by perseverance, passion, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.
To our beloved university, I extend heartfelt appreciation for fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence. From the laboratories buzzing with innovation to the lecture halls echoing with spirited debates, it is within these walls that we have honed our craft and embraced the boundless possibilities of the scientific world. To our esteemed Professors, Lecturers and mentors, you have ignited in us a thirst for discovery and instilled within us the belief that no challenge is insurmountable and indeed “Succeed we must!”
To our parents, guardians and sponsors, I offer profound gratitude for your unwavering support and boundless encouragement. Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed, and today, as we stand on the cusp of greatness, we carry with us the lessons of resilience, determination, and the power of unconditional love. You have been our guiding lights, illuminating faith and steadfast belief in our abilities.
And to my fellow graduates, I extend my warmest congratulations on this momentous achievement. Today, as we bid farewell to the familiar comforts of academia and embrace the uncertainty of the future, let us do so with heads held high and hearts ablaze with ambition. For we are not merely graduates; we are torchbearers of change, catalysts for progress and champions of a brighter tomorrow. We leave these grounds today also as ambassadors of the mighty Mbarara University of Science and Technology, may we keep the MUST flag flying high!

Let us seize every opportunity with gusto, navigate every challenge with grace, and leave an indelible mark on the world with our brilliance and benevolence.
Let us also remember that we are not alone, today we join the the Convocation of Mbarara University of Science and Technology as it’s newest members. Let us seize the opportunities, seek mentorship and cultivate professional networks.
Conclusively, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for gracing this momentous occasion with your presence. May the bonds forged within these grounds endure the test of time, and may the memories we have created together serve as beacons of inspiration in the darkest of nights.
