Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) held its 103rd Senate meeting today, marking a significant moment as both new and returning members were officially sworn in. The ceremony, presided over by His Worship Henry Twinomuhwezi, Assistant Registrar at the Mbarara High Court, emphasized the importance of integrity, neutrality, and fairness in all proceedings.
Twinomuhwezi guided the members through the Oath of Secrecy and the Oath of Allegiance, reminding them of their crucial role in upholding the university’s academic and administrative standards.

The swearing-in ceremony ensures that the senate, the top academic organ of MUST, is prepared to carry out its responsibilities in accordance with the university’s charter and the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act of 2001.
The senate is responsible for the overall administration of all academic programs at MUST. The meeting’s focus on the swearing-in of members highlights the university’s commitment to good governance and transparency. The presence of a judicial officer from the Mbarara High Court underscores the gravity of the oaths taken and the legal framework that governs the senate’s work.
