CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR CHANCELLOR

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is the 2nd oldest Public University in Uganda established by an Act of Parliament of the Republic of Uganda in 1989, with a vision “to be a centre of academic and professional excellence in Science and Technology”.

MUST offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a focus on community-oriented education and rural service delivery.

The University Council, through a Search Committee, has commenced the process of identifying a suitable candidate to serve as the Chancellor, in accordance with Section 30 (2) and (3) of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 (as amended).

The Chancellor shall serve a term of four (4) years, and is eligible for reappointment for one more term.

The position does not attract any remuneration; monetary or otherwise.

The University Council therefore invites you to nominate eminent persons for this position. The nominee should:

1. Be a citizen of the Republic of Uganda
2. Be a distinguished professional in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation
3. Have organisational leadership experience in executive or Top Management roles in either the public or private sector
4. Have strong public relations, with the ability to engage stakeholders nationally and internationally.
