Today, the University Senate welcomed its newest members. The ceremony, presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Professor. Celestino Obua, in the presence of the incoming Vice Chancellor, Professor Pauline Byakika Kibwika, marked a significant milestone for the institution.
Joining the Senate ranks were Mr. Vincent Kwantampora Kansiima, the newly appointed University Secretary; Dr. Eunice Olet, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Ms. Daisy Arinda Kankiriho, Guild President; and Mr. Andrew Ssewanywa, Vice Guild President. To guide them in their new roles, the Senate presented them with the University and other tertiary institution Act and the quality assurance framework document.
In the same meeting, the outgoing members were given a token of appreciation for their invaluable contributions. These included Prof. Celestino Obua, Prof. Jerome Kabakyenga, Mr. Melchoir K Byaruhanga, Dr. Bariyo Rogers, Associate Professor Julius Lejju, Dr. Viola Nyakato Nilah, H.E Musa Kiyema, and Ms. Milly Maling. They were presented with plaques, certificates, and branded souvenirs of the University.
The addition of these new members to the Senate signifies a fresh start and a commitment to academic excellence. With their expertise and dedication, the University is poised to continue its journey towards innovation and growth.
