MUST Selected as East and Southern Africa Higher Education Centre of Excellence

The MUST team members included Dr. Cassim Tolo, Dr. Patrick Ogwang Engeu, Eng. Anke Weisheit and Prof. Celestino Obua.

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is among 23 research centres in East and Southern Africa that have been earmarked for funding under a World Bank funded initiative to promote excellence. The centres have been conditionally selected under the US$140 million Eastern and Southern Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence Project (ACE II).

MUST Staff win SIDA Masters and PhD Scholarships

It was a joyous morning on Wednesday 10th February when staff MUST received 23 Masters and 17 PhD scholarships from the Swedish Government through the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). This was at a scholarship award ceremony held at Makerere University and presided over by the Swedish Ambassador to Uganda His Excellency Urban Andersson.

MUST Administration moves to Kihumuro Campus

Mbarara University of Science and Technology's major administrative units have completed a location move to the university's new campus at Kihumuro, 7 Kilometres along the Mbarara- Bushenyi Highway in Mbarara District. These units have previously sat at the Mbarara town campus.

In a circular to all staff and students dated 9th February 2016, The University Secretary confirms that the following offices/departments have moved;

 

 

MUST Receives donation of Epilepsy EEG Machine

Mbarara University of Science and Technology on 5th February 2016 received a donation of an Electroencephalography (EEG) machine for Epilepsy Research and Diagnostic Investigation.

The Vice Chancellor was represented by the Dean of the Medical School,  Prof. Samuel Maling and was attended by District Health Officer,  Mbarara Dr. Amooti Kaguna, The Mbarara Regional Referrak Hospital Hospital Director, Dr. Celestine Barigye among others.

MUST Holds Colourful 22nd Graduation Congregation

MUST held its 22nd graduation ceremony on Saturday 30th January 2016 at the university's Kihumuro Campus. The function was presided over by the university's chancellor Prof. Peter N. Mugyenyi.

The graduation ceremony, the second consecutive one at Kihumuro, saw 7 PhDs, over 60 Masters and over 900 Bachelors' degrees being conferred upon the graduands of the day by the university chancellor.

All set for 22nd MUST Graduation

Mbarara University of Science and Technology is all set to hold its 22nd Graduation Ceremony on Saturday 30th January 2016. The function shall be held at the university's Kihumuro Campus Grounds (7Km along the Mbarara-Bushenyi Highway).

22nd Graduation Announcement

Mbarara University of Science and Technology will hold its 22nd Graduation Ceremony on 30th January 2016 at Kihumuro Campus Grounds starting at 8.00 a.m.

Graduands should pay shs.67, 750= (Sixty seven thousand seven hundred fifty shillings only) bank charges inclusive for Graduation, Convocation, Certificate and Transcript fees. 

The invitation cards for Graduands and their parents will be ready for collection on Monday 18th January 2016 from the Office of the Academic Registrar.

MUST holds 11th Research Dissemination Conference

Mbarara University of Science and Technology held its 11th Annual Research Dissemination Conference on Wednesday 16th December 2015 at the university's Kihumuro campus. The conference was organised by the Instititute of Interdisciplinary Training and Research under the theme "Rethinking Science and Technology: A case of Interdisciplinary Approaches to Research and Community Development"
