Dr. Mutiibwa David
HOD

Surgery is one of the core disciplines taught in medical school. At MUST, the department of surgery offers training to both undergraduate medical students as well as postgraduates in general surgery and plans are underway for the establishment of the orthopaedic institute and the institute of neuroscience. We offer specialized clinical services in the divisions of neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, urology, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. We conduct research supervision for residents, which is a prerequisite for their master’s program and our faculty members are also very active in clinical research. We admit both Ugandan and international students. More than thirty general surgeons and about 11 plastic surgeons have graduated from our training programs and our graduates are employed across the globe.
