Mbarara University of Science and Technology has an active partnership with the University of Calgary in Canada. The main areas of focus are; joint educational and research activities, including applications for funding to promote these activities, exchange of visiting scholars for the purpose of conducting research, exchange of scholarly work, and exchange of undergraduate and graduate students. Through this collaboration, Healthy Child Uganda and Maternal Newborn and Child Health Institute were born and have conducted tremendous research in maternal and child care at MUST, Southwestern Uganda, and East African Region.
