Demmerle Phillip Martin: A yonder star of MUST

The 31st graduation ceremony at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) saw a remarkable achievement by Demmerle Phillip Martin. As the valedictorian, he stood out among his peers with an exceptional Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.72.
Martin, a student of Petroleum Engineering and Environmental Management in the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, not only excelled academically but also demonstrated his leadership skills. He was an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers MUST chapter, serving as the treasurer. His dedication to his field was further evident through his participation in an internship at CNOOC Uganda Limited, one of the pioneers in the industry from MUST.

Martin expressed his profound gratitude and humility. He acknowledged the immense support he received from his family, classmates, and friends, who played a crucial role in his success. “The honor of being the first valedictorian from my Faculty and the first in my entire clan, filled me with a sense of accomplishment and pride. I am so humbled”.
Martin’s achievement serves as an inspiration to future generations of MUST students. His academic brilliance, leadership qualities, and dedication to his field highlight the potential of the university’s graduates to make significant contributions to society.
