The Medical Research Council/Uganda Virus Research Institute and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Uganda (MRC/UVRI & LSHTM) Research Unit is an internationally recognized Centre of excellence for research and training.
This year it’s been hosted and Organized at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Topic being Research Resource Talk at Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST) on 27th November 2025 at 10:00am in the MUST- Academic Registrars Board Room.
The MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit is an international Centre of excellence in research conducting cutting-edge research under three (3) major themes:
1) Viral Pathogens
2) Vaccines
3) Non- Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
Access to decades long research data/ samples/ International data analytics Partnership.
Statistics and data section in collaboration with International Statistics and Epidemiology Partnership (ISEP)
The visit to MUST aims to:
1) Promote in-country awareness and guide access to data/biomedical samples by bonafide researchers and students. The unit holds three decades long research datasets/biomedical samples which surprisingly, so far, have been requested for and accessed manly by researchers and students from Universities in the global North.
2) Initiate engagement with the International Statistics and Epidemiology Partnership (ISEP)
