Emerging and re-emerging infectious and non-communicable diseases in Africa highlight the major role of the scientific community in managing these infections. The role of RNA research
was highlighted during the outbreak of COVID-19. There is a high potential for African scientists to contribute to the global knowledge economy while managing the most dangerous of
infectious and non-communicable diseases.
The African Life sciences RNA salon is a brain child of the collaboration between African and International researchers to help early career scientists create a platform for collaboration and
career growth in this nascent field. By participating in these salons, you will be able to learn and cease opportunities across the globe to grow your career through a wider network thus expanding
your research horizon.
The Africa Life Sciences RNA Salon, part of the global RNA Salon program is funded by the RNA Society to nurture engagement and interaction among RNA scientists.
In 2025, global RNA salon has organized a series of activities, including the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Mini Symposium on the theme: RNA Research: From the
Bench to the Community Scheduled for May 2, 2025. This event will be hybrid: in person (by invitation ONLY) and online (Zoom).
