Overview
This Grand Rounds session will focus on Cervical cancer diagnostics” the medical laboratory science perspective.” This will be led by Dr. Frank Ssedyabane (PhD, an Assistant lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology Department of Medical Laboratory Science. Dr. Frank Ssedyabane is specialized in Histopathology and Diagnostic cytology.
Accurate diagnostics are a key factor in diagnosis, management and prognostic monitoring of cervical cancer. A bad specimen is as good as none at all. Therefore, it’s important to pay attention to all aspects of laboratory testing, including specimen collection, handling, transportation, manipulation/preparation and in-house testing procedures as well as results interpretation. In this presentation, we are going to pay utmost attention to HPV tests, Pap smear cytology and Biopsy (Histology).

This session is intended for Medical students, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals involved in the cervical cancer Management.
