Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) held its 14th Annual Research Dissemination Conference on 23rd November 2018 at the Lake View Resort Hotel in Mbarara, Uganda.
Over 110 research papers were presented at the conference, organized by the university’s Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye was the Chief Guest and presided over the closing ceremony. In his remarks, Dr. Tumwesigye stressed the need for students to undertake research aimed at solving pressing societal challenges instead of only targeting publications.
At the conference’s plenary session, Dr. Maxwell Otim Onapa, the Deputy Executive Director of the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) delivered the keynote address.
The Vice Chancellor of MUST, Prof. Celestino Obua commended Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye for his efforts as the pioneering head of the new Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
