Camtech-MUST Project wins at MTN Innovation Awards

PRISMS (Protecting Infants Remotely by SMS), a project under the Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies (CAMTECH) at MUST, recently won the MTN Innovation Award for the Best Health Application. The award was presented to the CAMTECH team at glamorous award ceremony held at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

MUST's oldest faculty, the Faculty  Medicine, on 7th September 2017 welcomed Assoc. Prof. Gertrude Kiwanuka as the new dean at a colorful handover ceremony held at the Pharmacology Lecture Theatre. The outgoing dean, Assoc. Prof. Samuel Maling formally handed over at the function presided over by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Nixon Kamukama.

MUST Researchers are Global Health Seed Grant Recipients

Congratulations to Faculty of Medicine researchers who are co-investigators on projects recently awarded a global health seed grant from the University of Minnesota.

The Uganda Color Run at MUST in the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Global Health in partnership with Global Health Collaborative, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) held the 3rd color run to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and nutrition on July 22nd 2017. Of the 600 people that bought tickets, more than 350 participated in the 5km run. It all started from MUST pharmacology grounds through Mbarara town and at every 1km there was a color station where participants were showered with color powder.
