11th April 2017 was yet another great day in the drive to fortify partnerships and collaborations at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) by hosting Her Excellency Deborah Ruth Malac, the United States of America (USA) Ambassador to Uganda. MUST and the United States of America are moving forward in strengthening partnerships in the areas of health and capacity building. The American Ambassador held a formal meeting with the Vice Chancellor Prof.

The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs. Janet Museveni has lauded the progress of the ADB-HEST projects worth USD 12 million at Mbarara University of Science and Technology saying the quality of the structures under construction speak for the amount of money invested in the work.

Augmenting Partnerships at MUST: Vrije Universiteit Brussels Delegation Visits MUST

Tuesday, 4th April 2017 was one of those international institutional collaboration meeting days when a team from Vrije University Brussels (VUB) in Belgium paid an official visit to Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). The visiting team was composed of Prof. Jan Cornelis- the Pro Vice Rector Internationalization, Dr. Jacqueline Couder-the Head of the International Relations and Mobility Office and Jannes Motmans- the University Development Cooperation Cell.

Request for Application for MURTI Fellowship 2017/2018

The Mbarara University Research Training Initiative (MURTI) is accepting research fellowship proposals from MUST junior faculty (PhD candidate or a Masters Student/graduate) for 2017. Proposed studies should be of no more than 18 months' duration. Budget requests can be up to USD 50,000. Also awards may be subject to "across-the-board" cuts depending on availability of funds and number of competitive applications received.

VISIT TO MUST'S CAMPUS @ JINJA SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY

A recent site visit to Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery (JSNM)- MUST site was organised on 3rd March 2017 by the  administrator faculty of Medicine.  The team comprised of the Academic Registrar – Ms Martha Kyoshaba Twinamasiko,  Dean- Associate Professor Samuel Maling, Administrator – Ms Betty Namusoke Okumu,  Head and one lecturer from Department of Nursing – Dr Grace Nambozi and Ms Florence Beinempaka respectively, and one lecturer from the Department of Biochemistry – Mr Justus Murokore.  On arrival the team was given a guided tour of the school and the facilities.

MUST Holds 23rd Graduation Congregation

Mbarara University of Science and Technology held its 23rd Graduation Congregation on Saturday 28th January 2017 at the university's Kihumuro Campus in Mbarara District.

MUST's Dr. Patrick Ogwang is the New President of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda

Dr Patrick Ogwang Engeu, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, has been elected as the new president of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda. He will serve the Society for a 4-year term.
